We’ve seen photographs of the bluebonnets on these railroad tracks but we’ve never been able to lock down the actual location. A big thank you to Karen for sending in this bluebonnet sightings report and giving us the heads up on accessing these railroad tracks a little easier.
These bluebonnets on the railroad tracks are located on County Road 321 near FM 1431 just northwest of Kingsland, Texas, in Llano County.
Karen tells us this is the old, abandoned Kingsland railroad. She says, “There is a road next to the railroad that is marked “No Tresspassing” but County Road 321 is an unpaved county road. Please pay attention to the signage.”
Karen also says the bluebonnet blanket is thick, the field is large being 5 or more acres, and there’s safe parking nearby. However, the bluebonnets are beginning to set seed so you’ll want to hurry for these.
Y’all enjoy! : )
