Bluebonnet Sightings Reported to Us

Sightings reports that are sent directly to us are the heart and soul of Texas Bluebonnet Sightings. A picture or video is worth a thousand words! It’s one thing for someone to tell you where bluebonnets are, but with today’s price of gas, pictures — especially videos — tell you whether a field is worth your time and money to go out and have a looky-loo.

These sightings reports are so important to us, that we take the effort to include a Google map with every report that is sent directly to us. If your camera or cell phone is GPS enabled, we’re able to gather the GPS coordinates from your photos and videos and that makes it possible for us to provide an exact location of your report. If your camera or cell phone isn’t GPS enabled, no worries, just give us a pretty good idea of the location when you make your report.

To make a bluebonnet sightings report, send your photos and videos (as many as you like at one time) to bluebonnets@posterous.com.

For more information and the finer details on reporting your bluebonnet sightings, check out Got Bluebonnets?

Texas Hill Country Bluebonnet Alert! | FM 2323 in Llano County

Mercy me! Llano bluebonnets are F-I-N-E this year! We just came in off the road last night from our 3-day Hill Country leg of our Bluebonnet Extravaganza Roadtrip. We’re weary but we’re bluebonnet love drunk. LOL! And FM 2323 was definitely sharing the love this weekend! Bluebonnets are plump and juicy from the Llano County line just south of Prairie Mountain all the way north to Llano. Cathy’s picture tells it like it is. It took us about 3 hours to drive that stretch of road with all the Ooohs! Aawws! and OOCEs (pronounced...

Texas Hill Country Bluebonnet Alert! | County Road 316 between Hwy 71 and Kingsland

Oh my, my, my! The Texas Hill Country is looking gorgeous! What a wonderful photo, Craig. We just love the scenes where the bluebonnets come all the way up to the asphalt. The contrast between the black and grays on the road and the blues and greens in the bluebonnets is cool — especially when you do a little processing on your photos and pop the blues and greens. Woo Hoo! Pretty! Thanks, Craig, for another bluebonnet sightings report! Craig took the photo on March 24th so you know the Texas Hill Country will be pretty for a while....
